Kingsley Women's Take out AFLX Tournament

A big weekend for Kingsley’s Amateur Women’s Football team saw the girls take out the annual AFLX tournament. The girls side ending up winning all three round robin games and came out on top in the crossover grand final game as well.

Once nerves were pushed aside and minds switched on, the girls started the day off with a convincing win against Willetton. The next game saw the girls up against the solid bodies and strong marking of the ladies from Coolbellup. After a quick spray from the coaches during half time, Kingsley came out set on redeeming themselves and in the end managed to outrun the opposition. Everything came together beautifully for the girls in the Canning Vale game with some clean marks, big tackles, fierce teamwork and lots of goals!

Some notable mentions included first goals from new additions Rhi Couldridge and Jane Stockley and huge super goals from the likes of Kat Bennett and Gem Bailey.

At the end of the day, the girls are extremely excited for their B Grade 2020 campaign and looking forward to a fantastic year ahead. The AFLX tournament showed very promising teamwork and skills across the board. Hard luck to the colts who unfortunately lost in their grand-final, however the girls are happy to take over bragging rights as this year’s AFLX champions. Thank you to everyone who helped organise the event!
